The IOC is currently in the Toronto area, considering Toronto for the
2008 Summer Olympics. They'll be at the Hershey Centre during an NWHL
playoff game on Saturday. Please drop by to support the game, if you
are in the area. Here is a message from Fran Rider, executive director
of the Ontario Women's Hockey Association.

Hello. We have been asked for support by McCallion [Mayor of
Mississauga - incredibly lady who just turned 80 and still plays
some hockey herself!] and the City of Mississauga. Please note
    the following:

The IOC Technical Evaluation Commission delegates will be in the
Toronto area to tour potential Olympic venues. They will be touring
the proposed host venues identified in the TO-Bid 2008 Olympic
Games bid.The Hershey Centre has been included as a venue for
volleyball. The I.O.C. tour at the Hershey Centre is scheduled for
this Saturday afternoon, March 10th which coincides with a
Mississauga Ice Bears playoff game against Brampton Thunder. It
would be a great opportunity for the I.O.C. members to see the
strong support for Women's Hockey in Mississauga and also would
demonstrate that this is an area which supports all sports. Girls
wearing their jerseys will be admitted free of charge and adults
would be required to pay the $5 admission. If the I.O.C. team
comes through the building during the game, there will be an
announcement so that the crowd can acknowledge the I.O.C. team and
show support for the TO-Bid 2008. We have been asked by Mayor
McCallion and the City of Mississauga to get a message out to our
    hockey teams and players.

We would appreciate your help in circulating this information and
in rounding up a huge crowd to show support. Thanks!

BULLDOGS SCORE ON POWER-PLAY TO DEFEAT BADGERS IN OVERTIME

ROCHESTER, Minn. / Maria Rooth scored a power-play goal eight minutes, 49 seconds into overtime and second-ranked Minnesota-Duluth posted a 6-5 win over seventh-ranked Wisconsin to advance to the WCHA Women's Championship finale.
The Badgers trailed 5-3 with 5:57 to play in the third period when Sanna Peura scored for the Bulldogs. Meghan Hunter scored a power-play goal at little more than a minute later and Sis Paulsen's power-play tally with 1:23 remaining in the third period tied the score and sent the game into overtime.
Karen Rickard got Wisconsin on the board first at 5:02 of the opening period but Pamela Pachal's goal in the final four minutes of the opening period knotted the score at 1-1.
Rickard again gave the Badgers a one-goal lead early in the second period with the first of her team's three power-play goals. Rooth and Kendra Antony then traded even-strength goals as Wisconsin headed into the second intermission with a 2-1 lead.
That lead was short-lived, however, as Erika Holst scored just 1:09 into the third period and Joanne Eustace's power-play goal at 7:44 gave UMD its first lead of the game.
Minnesota-Duluth had a 41-34 advantage in shot on goal for the game, including a 6-1 margin in the overtime. Tuula Puputti stopped 29 shots for the winners while Badger goalie Jackie MacMillan made 35 saves.
The Bulldogs play in Saturday's championship game against the winner of the Minnesota-Ohio State game at 7 p.m. Wisconsin plays in the third-place game at 4 p.m.
