We lost our goalie temporarily, and by USA Hockey rules we are not
allowed to roster another even on a very temporary basis (4 games)
because we are nationals bound. I know that there are lots of you
out there with dark and evil motives who would try to do an end run
around a tournament director and bring in Patrick Roy in disguise,
but our motives are pure. We could have registered our team, but our
girls are spread over a 150 mile area and with our time frame, that
is just not feasible.

Who is this game for, the kids or the rule makes?

Debbie:

In British Columbia they added a rule to allow replacement of a goalie
due to INJURY. It is not in any rule book, but it is permitted via a
appeal to the Branch (Province). If you are only relying on the rule
book, you may have some other options that you are not aware of ! Check
with a Senior person in USA Hockey administration!
