I don't know what organizers expected, but yesterday's opening games at the
Women's Worlds drew between 300 and 450 spectators...and that's in hockey
country (Minnesota). Rather reminds one of the crowds when they make the
mistake of holding the World Juniors in any country except Canada :)

For those interested in following the games "live", go to:

Lackluster third period by the Canadians but they coasted to a 5-1 win.
Sunohara was named the game's outstanding player.

Canada outshot Russia 13-0 in the first period (led 2-0) and 17-7 in the
second period. It doesn't appear that Sweden has enough depth to give them a
serious run on Thursday.

The Finns, who haven't looked as good as they have in the past, have a big
game with the U.S., which has bowled over some very lackluster competition
in their first two games.

Well, as we all can tell, unless something major goes
wrong, it will be a US vs Canada final. My question
is, who do you think will win?

The girl I'm going with is going for the US, while I
will stick with my roots going for Canada.

If you ask me, I think the US will win this one. I
hope with all of my heart they won't, but the US seems
to be playing at a slightly higher level.
