FOREST LAKE'S GLENN SIGNS WITH GOPHER WOMEN'S HOCKEY

University of Minnesota women's hockey coach Laura Halldorson announced that 
Jerilyn Glenn, a 5-9 center from Forest Lake, Minn., has signed a National 
Letter of Intent.

Last year, Glenn scored 31 goals and 43 points in 25 games to lead Forest 
Lake. Along the way, she garnered All-Twin Cities Suburban Conference and 
honorable mention all-state honors. She also captained the team was named 
the Rangers' most valuable player.

A multi-sport athlete, Glenn has earned varsity letters in track, cross 
country and tennis.

"We're extremely pleased to sign Jerilyn for many reasons," Halldorson said. 
"She is one of the top players in the state, she's a strong student, a team 
player who wants to win and has great potential to continue to improve 
throughout her college career because of her athleticism.

"We also feel that Jerilyn's personality and values fit well within our 
program's philosophy. She is a tremendous addition to Gopher Women's 
Hockey."

Uliasz, Millar and Hunter Commit To UW Women*s Hockey

Madison, Wis. - Head Wisconsin women*s ice hockey coach Julie Sasner announced today that Nicole Uliasz (Perkasie, Penn.), Stephanie Millar (Hudson, Wis.), and Meghan Hunter (Oil Springs, Ontario) have signed national letters of intent during the early signing period. The three will attend the University of Wisconsin beginning in the fall of 2000.
	
Uliasz (pronounced Oo-lee-as), who will captain The Taft School in Watertown, Conn., this winter, is a Perkasie, Penn., native. The 5-9 defender played under coach Patsy Odden, and with current Badger Chanda Gunn, at Taft.  In 24 games during the 1998-99 season, Uliasz accumulated 26 goals and 20 assists for 40 points. Uliasz played forward during the 1997-98 campaign and scored 42 goals and 17 assists for 59 points in 24 games. She is a member of the Connecticut Polar Bears and helped the squad to USA Hockey Midget A National Championship titles in 1998 and 1999. In addition, Uliasz attended the 1997 USA Hockey Festival from which the Olympic Gold Medal team was chosen.  She has attended the USA Hockey Girls National Junior Camp in Lake Placid, N.Y., each summer since 1997.

Uliasz is the daughter of Pam and John Uliasz.

Millar, a 5-5 center and forward, will captain the Minnesota Thoroughbreds for the 1999-2000 season. The Hudson, Wis., native played with current Badger goaltender Jackie MacMillan during the 1998-99 season with the Thoroughbreds. She tallied 42 points on 19 goals and a team-leading 23 assists in 45 games during the season. Millar helped the Thoroughbreds finish in second place at the 1999 USA Hockey Midget A National Championship, falling to the Uliasz-led Polar Bears. In 1997-98, Millar scored 15 goals and 19 assists for 34 points in 43 games with the Thoroughbreds under-15 squad. An attendee of the 1999 Womens 17-and-18 National Camp, she also attended the 1997 USA Hockey Womens National Junior Camp in Lake Placid, N.Y. In addition, Millar played hockey for the first girls* high school hockey team in Wisconsin and holds the distinction of scoring the first goal. Millar also competes as a soccer player and helped Hudson High School to the 1998 Wisconsin State High School Tournament semifinals. 

Millar is the daughter of Sandi Millar and Mike Millar.

"We are thrilled to sign the best player in the State of Wisconsin to this recruiting class.  She will join Sis Paulsen, who came here last year from Eau Claire.  Stephanie is a speedy, skillful forward who will help our young team right away.*


Hunter, a 5-9 forward, currently serves as assistant captain for the Bluewater Hawks of the South Western Girls Hockey League. As a 1999 Team Ontario member, Hunter served as assistant captain. She helped the team to a gold medal at the 1999 Canada Winter Games in Corner Brook, New Foundland, and was named the teams Most Fit Player by the coaching staff. Hunter played with the London Devilettes Intermediate AA during the 1998-99 campaign, where she posted 101 points on 44 goals and 57 assists in 52 games. The Devilettes won the Central West League title and the Provincial Championship last spring. During the 1997-98 season, Hunter tallied 82 goals and 73 assists for 155 points in 77 games, and helped the London Devilettes Midget AA team to a 67-5-5 mark. With the London Devilettes Intermediate AA squad in 1997-98, Hunter earned Tournament MVP honors at the McGill Marletts Women*s Hockey Tournament, leading the team to the tournament championship. An all-around athlete, Hunter also attends Lambton Central Collegiate Vocational Institute and competes on the cross country, soccer and men*s hockey teams. She recently finished 39th out of over 250 runners at the All-Ontario Senior Girls* 5000-meter race, earned rookie of the year honors on the senior soccer team this past summer, and became the first female member of the men*s hockey team during the 1997-98 season. Named the top grade-11 female athlete, she finished 23rd at the All-Ontario Junior Girls* 4000-meter race. 
	
Hunter is the daughter of Jayne and Ron Hunter, and the niece of NHL players Dave, Dale and Mark Hunter. 

Sasner on Hunter:

The tenth-ranked Badgers (7-4-1, 5-2-1 WCHA) play host to third-ranked Minnesota (7-3-0, 4-0-0 WCHA) at the Dane County Coliseum this weekend. The games, slated for Friday and Saturday, Nov. 19 and 20, face off at 7:05 p.m., both nights.
