Sis Paulsen Named WCHA Player of the Week

Madison, Wis. - Sis Paulsen (Eau Claire, Wis.) has been named Western
Collegiate Hockey Association Player of the Week by the conference
office today.
Paulsen earned the award with the Badgers* first-ever hat
trick last Friday against St. Cloud State. The frosh notched the
game-winning goal, added an assist and was plus-3 in Wisconsin*s 6-1
win over the Huskies. The defenseman had an assist and was plus-2 in
the Badgers* 5-0 shutout of SCSU on Saturday. The assist, which
extended her point-scoring streak to four games, gave her four goals
and five assists over that stretch. Paulsen also helped Wisconsin hold
the Huskies to just one goal and 28 shots in the two-game series.
Paulsen leads all WCHA defenseman in conference (3-5=8) and
overall (4-8=12) scoring, and ranks fourth overall among all skaters.
The Badgers (5-2-1, 3-2-1 WCHA) play host to defending
national champion and top-ranked Harvard (0-0-0) at Capitol Ice Arena
in Middleton, Wis. The contest is slated for Friday, Nov. 5 at 7:30
p.m. Third-ranked Brown (0-0-0) comes to the Kohl Center on Sunday,
Nov. 7 for a 1:05 p.m., tilt.

Does anyone know of any team in southeast florida, preferibly Northern
Broward County (Coral Springs area) that are having signups for their league
or team that excepts girls in the 16 year old age range? If so, please let me
know. Thanks.

Does anyone know when the next issue(s) will be mailed? It's been a very
long time and to me it's bad business. Are there any other hockey magazines
with women's hockey out there?

I am not interested in receiving "old" issues of Hipcheck (Women's Hockey
Magazine) so I requested that my money be refunded or that my subscription be
extended. The following is the official response I got:

The mailing of the May/June and later issues of Hipcheck has been delayed. The
summer issues are finished and are ready to send out, but we are in the
process
of converting our system to an automated mailing list, and have been
working on
a new business plan, which has put the mailing behind. We are also waiting for
all of the new investors to sign on. Everything will be back on the on regular
stream as soon as possible. At this point we do not have an exact date, but it
should be soon. We apologize for this inconvenience.

In defence of Hipcheck, I should say that they charged ridiculously low
subscription rates, ie. $12 Canadian for 6 issues. Check the math...it cost
them 2 bucks an issue to mail it to me...in other words, zero income from
subscriptions.

I hope they make a go of it with a new business plan. I'd pay more for it
(provided the issues did arrive).

Anyone from Hipcheck on this list? They used to be here.
