Can anyone tell me about th US Olympic Development camp? Do you have to be
invited to it? When and where is it? What ages is it? Who would I contact
for information about this? I see this camp mentioned every once in awhile
but, I can't find any concrete info about it. Thanks!

My 15 year old daughter attended a girl's development camp in Flagstaff,
Arizona for our state and other nearly areas that may not have had a camp.
From this camp she was selected to go to the Rocky Mountain District camp
that was held in Dallas, Texas a week ago. From that camp the skaters
were selected to go to the Lake Placid camp. There were only 6 skaters
selected to go there. I think it might be 5 and 1 goalie, but I'm not
sure.

The camp in Dallas had a fee, but the one in Lake Placid was all expenses
paid we were told. So in response to the question posted, YES, you have
to be invited.

Watching these girls in the Rocky Mountain district was unbelievable.
Some of them were so good is was amazing. One thing I thought was
interesting, is that in the Rocky Mountain District of 9 states there are
about 15,000 skaters registered. I'm not sure if this includes adults.
In Minnesota alone, there are about 46,000 skaters registered. Lot of
competition for us our here in the west.

Subject: Non-Hockey Announcement!

Hello there!

On a non-hockey note, I'd like to announce that I'm getting married to
Marc Ouellette on July 24th this summer! And of course, I've made a
web page for the wedding!! :-) See www.whockey.com/wedding
There will be a few hockey themes to the wedding, so I guess this isn't
totally a non-hockey announcement ... we won't be getting married on
our pond, like my sister did, though! :-)

On the women's inline hockey front, there are a number of tournaments
taking place this summer. We even have to break our honeymoon into
two segments in order to accomodate the Canadian Hockey Inline
tourney! :-) Here's the list:
May 13-16 -- Rinko de Mayo, Las Vegas, Nevada
July 9-11 -- invitational tournament, Oakville, Ontario
July 16-25 -- World Inline Festival, Kitchener, Ontario
July 29-Aug 1 -- Canadian Hockey National Championship, Ontario
Aug 2-8 -- North American Roller Hockey Championship, Georgia
Sept 1-6 -- Disney tournament, Orlando, Florida
Sept ? -- USA Hockey Inline Cup, location TBD
The list is also available from my web page at
http://www.cs.toronto.edu/~andria/inline/tourney/1999/

I played for the Franklin Typhoon at the Rinko de Mayo tournament in
Las Vegas a couple of weeks ago. There were quite a few former and
current US and Canadian national team members at the tournament. This
is the tournament that is hosted by Manon Rheaume (who incidentally did
not participate in the tournament this year because she is due to have
a baby within a week). There were 3 women's divisions at the
tournament this year. Here are the results for the women's Pro
division:

  Visitor Home Day Time
