Cassy, I would try using a aluminum or graphite stick if you don't already

If you don't have the right technique, no stick in the world is going to make
a bit of difference!

Here's how you can prove it. Before you spend $100 + on some fancy stick,
try one of your teamamtes' sticks. If all of a sudden you have a slapshot
that goes 100 mph, get that stick! (But I seriously doubt that will happen!)

Work on your technique with a qualified instructor! Once you have developed
your shot, if you still fell that something is lacking , at that point you
may want to consider changing sticks so you can "fine tune" your shot. Once
you have a an idea of what a good slap shot feels like, then you will be able
to make an informed decision as to which stick is right for you.

But until that day comes, spend you money wisely - use it on lessons!

RALPH, SCHMIDGALL RELEASED TO TRANSFER

The University of Minnesota Women's Athletics Department has announced that
sophomore defense Brittny Ralph and frosh center Jenny Schmidgall have left
the team to pursue their transfer options. The department has fully
released them to explore their options and has waived the NCAA one-year
residency requirement.

"It's unfortunate that Jenny and Brittny have chosen to leave the
University of Minnesota," said Halldorson. "They have both been assets to
our team and we wish them well in their future endeavors."

This past season, the Gophers posted a 29-4-3 record and finished third at
the American Women's College Hockey Alliance National Championship.
