Subject: Thank you!

Greetings again,

I just wanted to thank all of those who responded to my inquiries about
Hockey in the Bay area. I'm pretty excited 'cause it sounds like they have
a great program out there. The organizers/officers there did eventually
respond to me, I'm just a bit impatient. Thus, I didn't want to make it
sound like they were not responsive. Maybe you could say I was in a bit of
a panic that I may not be able to play out there. But yes, there's women's
hockey out there!

Thanks,
Shannon

Subject: National Goalkeeper Camp

The females from Minnesota who have participated in this development camp
for goalies have enjoyed the camp every year. They have expressed that it
focuses on the goalies for the entire camp and they have learned a lot.
There are usually 7-8 females invited to this camp and I believe the number
of total participants is about 40. It is both male and female and they
train together working with some of the best goalie coaches in the country.
Just the experience of staying at the Olympic Training Center and meeting
other athletes is a plus, not to mention being in beautiful Colorado. I
don't know what the daily schedule is. The camp director will send a
booklet to the participant and hopefully it will include a schedule. If it
doesn't, write and ask him for it. I don't know if there are scouts
present, however, there are usually some college coaches who are working at
the camp, as well as prior National team members such as Kelly Dyer. For
the price of an airline ticket only and a small registration fee, this
goalie camp is definitely worth the money since USA Hockey takes care of the
rest: lodging, meals, ice and transportation to the rink. Remember that
individuals are invited to this camp, therefore, the athletes are together
with other talented goalies to learn from. If you have questions, contact
Doug Palazzari at USA Hockey (719-538-1169) or contact Don Aho the Camp
Director at 906-475-4454.
