Everyone please check out the following two new web sites for girl's hockey
organizations.

http://www.ndgha.tsx.org  is for the Niagara District Girls Hockey
Association and is the home of the Niagara Rapids.

http://www.swghl.com  is the home of the South Western Girls Hockey League,
which has numerous teams in each division starting from Novice up to
Intermediate in every classification spanning across Southern and Western
Ontario.  The league also has added two new teams from Michigan, the Belle
Tire Girls hockey team, and the Honeybaked girls hockey club and also has a
handful of teams from the Buffalo Bisons organization.

The SWGHL site also has a listing of the majority of girls and senior hockey
tournaments across Ontario for the upcoming 1999/2000 season and the
contacts for each tournament and a variety of links for organizations in
Ontario.

With all the talk of a new league I starting thinking about the ideal team.
So I poise this question:

If you were named the general manager of the first pro women's team who
would your first draft pick be?


As a goalie myself I lean towards Manon but think I would pick Geraldine
Heaney.

Any thoughts?

You're obviously from Canada.  And you picked the two oldest girls on the 
goddamn team.  Cammi Granato to be a vetran and leader (top scorer, 
publicity, etc...) and Wickenheiser/Ruggiero for your future.
