Gary, I'm jealous. My sister, Samm (#8) plays for UNH. Since I live in
Toronto I'm not going to be able to catch the Wildcats until January when
they play Niagara.

Have fun and cheer for my sis!

McGill knocks off unbeaten St. Laurent

Julie Hornsby's 2 third period markers helped propel the McGill
Martlets past previously undefeated St. Laurent 3-1 in Quebec University
Women's Hockey League play, last night at McGill's McConnell Arena.

Hornsby scored 19 seconds into the third period to give McGill a 2-0
lead. The Patriotes, who entered the game with a perfect 4-0 record, cut
the lead to 2-1 when Dominique Rancour beat goalie Kim St. Pierre at
6:53.

Hornsby, notched her second of the game scoring into the empty net with
13 seconds to play to secure the McGill victory and improve the Martlets
league record to 3-2-1.

McGill's Kathleen O'Reilly opened the scoring at 4:38 of the first
period when she rang a shot off the inside post that beat goalie
Emmanuelle Cabana. The Patriotes netminder made 15 saves on the night.
St. Pierre kicked aside 23 shots in the McGill net.

The Martlets host defending C.I.A.U. champion Concordia tonight. Game
time is 6:30 p.m. at McConnell Arena. The clubs have met twice this
season with the Stingers prevailing by scores of 4-1 and 6-0.

Subject: McGill rookie has knee surgery

McGill rookie expected to return after Christmas

McGill rookie forward Cailee Heggestad underwent successful knee
surgery this week at McGill's Sports Medicine clinic.

The resident of Frontier, Saskatchewan has been sidelined since
re-injuring her knee in a game October 11th vs UQTR.

Heggestad, a top recruit of the McGill women's hockey team, is
expected to rejoin the club after Christmas.

"Cailee will give us an added boost in the second half of the
season," said General Manager Dan Madden.

Heggestad played last season with the Notre Dame Hounds and
averaged over a point a game with the school team.

"Her return to the lineup will help us offensively and physically,"
said Madden. "She's a tough forward with a nose for the net."

Heggestad has competed with Saskatchewan's provincial under-18 team
and the Senior Club.

MUZERALL'S HAT TRICK LEADS GOPHERS PAST MINNESOTA STATE, MANKATO

Nadine Muzerall recorded her fourth career save and led Minnesota to an 8-1
victory over Minnesota State, Mankato.

The Gophers got on the board quickly as Tracy Engstrom scored at 1:16 of
the first period and Amber Hegland tallied at 6:13 but Maverick goalie
Jenny Padget kept her team alive some stellar play, stopping 20 of the next
22 shots she faced to keep the score at 4-0 through two periods.

Muzerall gave Minnesota 5-0 lead early in the third with a power-play goal
and completed her hat trick with her eighth goal of the year at 6:57 of the
final period.

Cara Samuelson got Minnesota State on the board at 8:51 of the final period
before Engstrom notched her second of the game at 10:39 and Betsey Kukowski
tallied her first with 3:12 to play to close out the scoring.

Padget finished the game with 33 saves as the Gophers held a 41-6 advantage
in shots on goal.

Minnesota returns to action next weekend when they take part in the
Princeton Thanksgiving Invitational, Nov. 27-29, beginning with
Northeastern at 4:30 p.m. CST Friday. The game will be broadcast live by
KKMS 980 AM with Pete Wagner calling the play-by-by.
