No, it won't. I had both made at the same time: the hard one because I was
grinding my teeth in my sleep, the soft one for sports. My dentist
specifically told me not to switch. Not only could the hard one break if you
bite down sharply enough, but it doesn't give the cushioning that is the whole
point of wearing a mouthguard. You might as well wear nothing as put something
hard in your mouth -- it could cause more danger, even, because it's as if you
extended the length of your teeth.

Hi all -

Good news for anyone who is having a "simple extraction" done - I just
called my oral surgeon and she said that with this style of extraction,
there will be no restrictions on my hockey playing. Since I play 4 days
after the scheduled extraction date, my mouthguard probably won't even annoy
me.

A note to the person who mentioned nightguard use -
I use my nightguard during hockey, and since my dentist custom-made it, I
can talk without having to take it out all the time! There is also no
gagging.

Good luck to all of you who are facing wisdom teeth extraction. I had all
mine removed in '82, and it wasn't so bad because they gave me big red pills
for the weekend afterward.

Apparently the National Team roster for the 3 Nations Cup
in Finland has been set. 14 Olympians are on it.
Wickenheiser and Botterill won't be as they are with
the under 22. Who else made it?
