I don't know if NIU has a team. If they do, they're the stealth team
'cause I've never heard of them. I play for the Chicago Ice and we are
open to new skaters. Have your friend e-mail email@hidden.

All:
In the Pacific Regionals which were held this past weekend in Anchorage AK, the
final standings were:

1.Seattle Jr.AHA Admirals (4-0) - Defeated CA 7-0, AK 3-1, TC 3-1 and AK 4-1
in the final.
2.Alaska (2-2) - Defeated TC 3-1, CA 2-0,
3.Tri-Cities (WA) Wildcats - (1-2) - Defeated CA 4-2
4. Team California II (0-3)

Seattle goes on to Nationals next month.

It was a very good, competitive tournament and any of the top three teams could
have ended up with the trophy. Seattle proved to be the best team at the
tourney by defeating Alaska 4-1 in the final game. The game was almost a
full-checking duel between the two teams with the AK goalie (Coletta) putting
on a
tremendous show to hold Seattle scoreless in the first period. But eventually
Seattle wore down AK's defense and went on to win.

A great weekend of hockey for all the participants was hosted by the AK
Firebirds association and they are to be congratulated as well. The only
suggestion I would make for future tourneys would be to assign goal judges to
the U-19 and Women's games. A District level Tier II tournament should have
these minor officials assigned and present for each game.

By taking 2 of the top three slots, WA State has made it clear that girls hockey
is up and coming here. Good luck to the Admirals in representing the Pac
District at the Nationals!

Subject: Fun Tournament

Hi,

We are hosting a tournament in Monsey, NY on May 15-17th and I'm still
looking for one more B level team to participate. Other teams that are
playing: NJ Selects, Pelham Pelicans, Cheseapeake Bay Lightning, Hudson
RIverWaves, and Fridays.

You are invited to participate in the "Just Havin' Fun #3" Women's Ice
Hockey Tournament, May 15-17th in Monsey, NY. There will be two
divisions and each team will be guaranteed three games, with the
possibility of five. The games will start on Friday evening with the
semi-final and championship games on Sunday. The tournament fee will be
$550 per team. There are two hotels nearby. I do not have the rate
information as of yet but will get it soon.

This is a fun, informal tournament. We do require that all players be
registered USA Hockey. If you need to mix and match players please do
so. We need a B level team....so come on and join......

Thanks

Subject: Comment about Cammi and Tony

During the broadcast of the Stars-Sharks game last night
the Dallas announcers, Darryl Reigh and Ralph Strangis.

Refered to Tony Granto more than once and "Cammi's brother"
and not as he has a sister Cammi that plays.

At some point in the first period Tony got caught with
a really stupid roughing/holding call. At which point
our Dallas announcer play stated that it was very
obvious that Cammi is the better hockey player in
that family.

It was nice to see some respect paid to
the accomplishments of the US team and
the sport in general. Also, my daughters
could hardly believe that what they heard,
and it did a lot for boosting their own
feelings.

A hockey dad,

There are quite a few Womens teams in the Chicago area. The Fox Valley
Phantoms (which are moving into the B league in the 98-99 season) are
based out of the Geneva Rink. We also welcome new players.

Check out:

That's a guide to camps, mainly for girls, that my daughter has put together
and is maintaining. No recommendations, just contact points.
