Ray,
There is an article in the most recent issue of the women's hockey
magazine, Hipcheck, which reviews the women's hockey cards that are
available. Their email address is: email@hidden
Good luck!

Subject: Drying equipment

In order to dry my difficult equipment (gloves, skates), I spray Johnson's
Odor-Eaters Antifungal (for Athlete's Foot) spray into them and then shove
in a couple of cedar blocks meant to keep moths away. The spray dries to a
white powder so my hands sometimes look a little ghostly after a game, but
it's very effective in sucking the moisture out of the material and killing
certain types of bacteria. The cedar blocks mostly control odor, but they
also help absorb moisture. Even during the frantic playoffs, with games
every night, I never had the curse of wet, smelly equipment.

In order to control helmet beasties, I would spray Lysol in my helmet after
washing it with an anti-bacterial dishwashing soap. There are a variety of
perfumed Lysols if you find the original offensive. I've never had a
problem, and I'm known to have delicate skin. Good luck!

For those Ithaca Sirens who recently posted me, could you please reply
personally and let me know of any pick-ups or drop-ins I can attend. It's
been over a month now since I've played and that is one month too long!
Thanks for your time.

I don't think I have seen this information posted here yet ... at
least I hope it hasn't already been posted...

Team Canada has just announced its new coaches for the 1999 World
Championship, which will be held in Finland in March. Dani¸le Sauvageau
is the new head coach, and the assistant coaches are Ken Dufton and Karen
Hughes. Mel Davidson has been named head coach of the Under-22 team.

The CHA has a press release about this. You can get to the press
release from my "Women's Hockey Web News" page at:
   http://www.cs.toronto.edu/~andria/news/

I've been renaming the pages in my web site so that they use shorter
and more organized filenames, so if you see any links that are not
working, please let me know. I haven't moved all of my pages to the
new site at whockey.com yet, but if you start there, it will take you
to all my old web pages.

Andria
