I paid for both because the hockey coach at my roller rink said that my
ice registration wouldn't cover me for roller. If he gave me the wrong
information, I'd like to know, but I wouldn't be surprised to learn that
they make you pay for each separately.

It's slightly hipocritical to wish that on someone if you know how it feels.
The "golden rule" appies here.

his talent , time and resources to furthering the sport of Woman's hockey?
This is the exact attitude that woman's hockey does not need.

1) thanks to those of you who have backed me on this

2) Seems like a few of you have taken this the wrong way, and did not bother
to read past "Its about time.....yadda yadda yadda......"

So, for clarification of the issue, I am re-printing it......... << Just do
what women have done for years - work hard to prove that you ARE the best for
the job, and eventually you will have your shot. If that doesn't work, let
the tears flow, get some Ben & Jerry's & get over it!!>>

Women have put up with that kind of crap for years. I'm not saying that it's
right that discrimination is happening in reverse, nor that I am wishing it
upon anybody, but it certainly cannot do any harm to walk a mile in someone
else's shoes.

I always have, and always will, believe that the best person for the job
should do the job. But, if you are treated unfairly, DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT -
don't jsut sit there and whine about it.

And no, I am not BITTER towards the man who wrote the original posting.

In fact, if it were not for men who cared enough that women SHOULD be playing
ice hockey, I would not be playing today. My coach just happens to be a man,
and he is without a doubt, the best person for the job. He cares about the
players, not only as players, but as people too.

I hope this clears up the misunderstanding.

Right now I have gotten 95% of the people saying that you have to pay
twice... or for both inline and ice hockey.

However, 5% have said that you pay once for both...

I have heard about a women's ice hockey tournament being held in Dallas,
TX sometime in late July, but I have not been able to get information
about it. Does anyone have info they could forward me? Heck, if I could
even just find out the name of the rink that's hosting it, I would be
happy to make all the phone calls from there.

Thanks for any help!

Has anyone asked USA Hockey about this? So far it seems that they are the
only ones not talking.

While we're complaining about USA Hockey...

Why is it that there is a combination coach/player registration for ice
hockey, yet for inline you have to get two registrations, one as a coach
and one as a player?

I actually emailed USA Hockey, and they replied that the administration
is different for ice and roller, so yes, you need to pay twice. You can
email them at: email@hidden

Hope that clears things up!

Okay... well, looks like we have our answer. My friend also just heard
from the USA Hockey Inline rep and he said that you have to pay two fees,
one for ice and one for inline. They do not cover each other.

Personally, I think this is double dipping. I plan on writing to USA Hockey
at email@hidden to politely suggest that they change this policy. I
hope others will join me and do the same.

The other issue is that USA Hockey has schedule their inline Nationals
during late September. Again, I have an issue with this. :) or course.

With a number of my players being ice hockey players also... and typically
use to Inline Nationals (such as NARCh and AIRIS) being in the summer...
most can not attend the USA Hockey Nationals in late September because
their ice teams start up or they go back to school, etc.

My questions is why the heck are they putting Nationals in September, while
they are typically in August. And I do understand that they consider them
two different sports, but why cross over if it causes conflicts?

I hope you will also join me in writing to USA Hockey at email@hidden
to politely suggest that they hold Nationals next year in the summer (like
in August).

Thanks for everyone helping me figure this one out. I appreciate it.
And remember, a few people making suggestions goes a long way.
