Congrats to Jules

Some may recall that I was expecting in March....well we had a boy 7lbs
7oz and although the labour was long, the delivery left me unscathed (ie

no stitches)....which meant I was playing hockey 7 days later. Some may

say I was a little crazy, but hey, it was the playoffs!!! Needless to
say I was in decent, but not excellent shape for the April provincials 5

weeks later. I am now participating in a skills and drills summer
program once a week and greatly anticipating the upcoming season!!!

Everyone should wear one!! Once you get a stick up your crotch, you'll
       agree!

I never notice it, but it really should NOT be considered optional
equipment - all girls should be sure and wear them, too.

You should not even know that you have it on!

You must have bought a girl's size Jill - they come in all sizes - even
some rather large women on our team have Jills that fit well. You really
should wear it - one of the women on my team discovered that after she
got a stick up her crotch while not wearing one.

Just came back to work and caught up on all the new postings to the
list.

A few comments on the pelvic protection issue. This is not just an
"ice" issue. I once took a high speed practice pass with a roller
"ball" to that part of the anatomy, and to say I saw stars is putting it
mildly. When I get back to playing some sort of organized league this
fall, I am definately going to check out some sort of protection.

And totally unrelated, I would advise anyone post partum to get back
into skating and playing as soon as you can physically do so. It does
wonders for post partum blues. I went back to biking and roller-blading
4 weeks after my son was born, and it really made a difference in my
attitude and outlook, as apposed to my daughter's birth where I waited
for 12 weeks and had a nasty case of the new momma blues...
