Ok, i'm starting to freak out, and i was wondering if it was completely
necessary or not.
I hear my friend's dad talking about hockey registration. He said that it was
over thats why my friend wasn't playing right now, for the spring/summer
season. But the way he talked it seemed like all Fall regestration was done
with too.
I'm completely in the dark. I was going to try out for my high school this
fall but im not completely positve i'll make it. Mostly because of lack of
experiance and limited roster slots. And as a back up plan/ alternitve i was
thinking local team < Metro Detroit, near Walled Lake/Novi >
So Problem: Am i too late or am i overreacting?

Thanx -- J

Well put message, it's true. The coach can't go out
and play the game for them, and also, it was just one
game. Maybe if it was best out of _ then it might
proe different. I think the Canadians had more
pressure anyway, the U.S. were the under dogs, and so
they didnt have as much pressure to win. Much of this
is a personal opinion, but things happen.

Sue is right. Shannon Miller did a fine job coaching. I wouldn't mind
having her as a coach. Yes, I rooted for USA, but I know it was an equally
matched game. Someone had to win, and this time it was USA. Remember,
Canada beat USA in the first televised woman's game, and that game was
tight. These teams are equally matched. In the end, coaches are like
goalies: SOMETIMES given credit for the victories, blamed for most losses.
The major factor deciding each game is who gets the most lucky breaks, not
if the coach calls out the best left-winger at 18:02 in the game. Shannon
gets alot of undue blame. ~Oh, no! She said Canada would win the gold!
What a liar! Let's stone her outside of the city!~ She had confidence, is
that a crime? I'm sure we've all said something like that before a game or
something. It helps build confidence in you and the other players. It also
can be intimidating. Also, awhile back talk was rampant about her sexual
life. WHAT DID THAT HAVE TO DO WITH HER COACHING?!? What, did she say to
the players "If you don't socre with me you don't score on this team"? I
think she has been bashed and accused alot on these lists. She is a good
coach. If she weren't, why would Canada let her coach Team Canada? I know
there are ALOT of good coaches in Canada. Well, I'll step off of that
soap-box now.

I wish I could scan the picture, but here's the slightly less than 1,000
words. Cammie Granato was welcomed home with her gold medal by her
brother at a Sharks home game. She was also given the duty of dropping a
ceremonial opening puck. At center ice, she dropped the puck, Tony
picked it up, handed it to her and gave her a big brotherly kiss.
Stevie Yzerman was on the ice for the Wings, and was not to be out done,
giving Cammie a big hug and a kiss. He accompanied his gesture of
affection and respect with the comment, "I don't usually kiss hockey
players." which we took to mean he accepts Cammie as a equal among
champions. It was a great moment
