Subject: try-outs in midwest?
Message-ID:
I'm a 15 year old female goaltender, and I play for a travel girls' Midget
team called the Keweenaw Wings(based out of Houghton, MI, in the Upper
Peninsula) I was wondering if anyone had information on state or national
try-outs being held in Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, or other neighboring
midwest states.
Also, I'm looking for a good womens' hockey camp in the midwest.
Thanks-
Shannon Perkins

I don't know about tryouts but Rinksport has a hockey camp in MT. Clemens, MI
in August. They even have an Elite level camp although I don't know if that
part of the camp will be at Mt. Clemens. It's a good camp. It's run by
members and former members of the US National Women's Team. There is a 1-800
number for Rinksport which is based in Rockville, MD. It has been advertised
in the Hockey News and USA Hockey's American Hockey Magazine. I, however do
not have with me right now.
Also there are camps in Ontario for girls specifically geared to girls at all
levels, from novice to elite competition prospects. Some of the Canadian
camps are put together by members and former members of the Canada National
Women's Team.
Hope this helps a little.

Hi all!
I was wondering if anyone knows if any of these games are going to be
televised in the US by a US network? If not, maybe the US people here on the
list can put a plug in for it on ESPN's web site!
http://espnet.sportszone.com/subscriber/contact.html
They have TWO regular sports programming stations. I'm sure they can find
time between the world's strongest man competition (guys pulling 747's with
their teeth) and useless college basketball games (Middle Tennessee State vs
Grambling) to air a few of the games!!
Come on people, let's put the heat on em!!! :-)
