Having been raised in the Boston area, I can see how they feel. That is
one of the reasons I now reside in California, They are much more
realistic. The book would NOT be banned here! I support womens' hockey
100%, my daughter would probably be playing in a league, if only because
of her height, the wanted to move her to an all-boys league that was two
years beyond her! She was 15, was 5' 7", they wanted to put her in
17-21.
You gotta be kidding!

Union came to Cheel Arena yesterday (January 18) to face off against the
Clarkson Edge. Union won 5-1.
Even though Union dominated the game, the Clarkson women really enjoyed
it, and I think the Union women did too. Many of our players had
conversations with Union team members after the game, and they seemed
impressed that we played so well for such a young team. They were an
outstanding group of women with excellent organization, skills, and
sportsmanship.
We look forward to meeting them again in March!

Unfortunately, the Houston women are in the same boat as Jenny's team.
Since she posted first, I want to make sure that she has a chance to
fill her roster fist. BUT! I am hopefull that there are enough people
who want to go, that we can both fill our rosters. A love of hockey is
required, actual skills are optional. You can reply to me at
mailto:email@hidden
or to our captain, Candy Angulo, at
mailto:email@hidden
The details are the same, so I will include them from Jenny's post:

The OWHA directed its member associations in Ontario not to sell this
book at their tournaments or fundraisers. They have also (apparently,
according to the globe) prohibited its author from participating in an
OWHA game in her home town. Associations are forced to comply or face
expulsion.
