On Friday, after having my e-mail messages back up due to the number of
repeat messages that were accidently forwarded to the list, I looked at the
first 10 or so messages and read the first one (not like any of the 10 or so
messages made any sense or had anything to do with hockey anyway). However,
I replyed to the person (Frank Imburgia) with the following title (grab a
brain jerk.) nothing more or nothing less. No body text confronting the
issue, just a short title that at the time I thought might address the
problem. Appologetically after reading the 28th message on my e-mail that
day I was informed of the problem Mr. Imburgia had had and felt somewhat bad
for my simple misinformed reply message until now. Like most people when
they check their e-mail they start at the top and work their way down.
Becasue of the problem I had had downloading and the fact that I had
recieved the same message before, I replyed immediately.

After my nephew and I were done playing on the web this evening (SUNDAY) we
went into my messages to check my e-mail and low and behold look what
heading followed "BLOW ME". The following text is a forwarded document from
Mr. Imburgia to myself regarding last weeks mailing. PLEASE READ ON!

I am sorry for forwarding this message to the entire list. However,
although I am partially at fault for not reading all my messages before I
reply, I do not feel that neither I nor my family should be subjected to the
remarks presented by Mr Imburgia to myself. I hope that those on this list
who have children can relate and I hope that I am not out of place for
forwarding this message to the list.

Sincerely,

Graham J. Brown

The Brown Women's hockey team shutdown UNH yesterday, 2-0, in New
Hampshire. On Saturday, they beat Colby 8-0.
Providence College also had a productive weekend, avenging last
years finals loss to UNH with a 4-3 victory on Saturday. They also
defeated Colby yesterday, 6-1.
This weekend's action leaves Brown as the only undefeated team left
in the ECAC. If anyone has first hand accounts of any of the games,
especially the Brown-UNH game, please post.

OK: Uncle! My son has been in my mail. Not only am I sorting through
67 new messages from snowboarders all over the world, but I am
missing a
post! Plus, my mail settings and address book are corrupted. Kids are
wonderful, but the pandemoneum they can cause is unbelievable!

Whoever it was writing the book, please write me again!!! Also,
for those of you who have been interested in The Alaska Firebirds
lawsuit: The original judge assigned to the case has retired. A new
one has yet to be assigned. So the case continues to pend, pend,
pend...

Thx, Lyle

I have rec'd a few requests for further info on Womens/Girls Hockey
tourneys
in Dallas. I hope the following will help.

Girls: I am not real familiar with the girls program @ StarCenter but I do
know that there are two teams (Midget & PeeWee). They are composed
of girls
in the juniors program most of whom also play on a "boys" house or
travel
team. Two years ago, they wanted to practice for this a Colorado
tournament
and a women's team was born (BRIEFLY). There was only a Midget
team then.
There are several juniors tournaments here throughout the year. If there
is
enough interest, I'm sure a girls division would be a welcome addition to
these tourneys.

Women: At this time Dallas women are still in a learning phase, except
those
luckey few who discovered hockey as girls. (Most of these are
transplants
from up north) Most of the women play in senior rec leagues with the
men.
I have been told that a minimum of four womens teams would be needed
for a
womens division in the senior tournaments. I'm not sure if this would
include midgets teams. Boys midget teams have been allowed to enter
the
senior tourneys in the past as long as parental consent forms were
signed
for each player under 18.

Tournaments: A Girls/Womens Tournament is still in the planning phases.
It
is dependent upon having enough interested teams. When I spoke with
the
directors @ StarCenter, they were thinking of late 1997 or early 1998.

Single Games: All we need is enough time to schedule the ice, refs, etc
and
to get everyone together. There is also other rinks in town where we
can
pull players, ice time, etc. If I have to, I will rent the ice personally
and talk with the refs association to get them for the game!!

I hope this helps!!!

To my knowledge the RI Panthers Tournament has been going on for at least
the last 8 years. The person to get in touch with is Fred Miller - I'll
look for his number and let you know. It's a great tournament second
only to the Conn. Polar Bears.
