Sorry! The information I passed on to Melissa earlier is what I understood
to be accurate after a discussion with a few people (sprrts reporters,
hockey coaches, etc) who were pretty adament about the 3rd year being added
-- we here are operating on that premise. I also understood that the rules
applied to girls as well as boys. In any event, I am realy sorry if I passed
along something incorrect. But apparently, from the mixed variety of
messages that I have been getting in response to my information, each of
which seems to contradict the other, there is a real need to clarify this!
Many people are very confused -- including me!
Again, sorry!

The poster should still be available through USA Hockey - either
their main offices in Colorado Springs or through Karen Lundgren, the
women's section director in Michigan. Their addresses are in the USA
Hockey handbook - I don't have them here at work. Oh, I do have
telephone numbers: Doug's a(Palazari) t USA Hockey is 719-599-5500
and Karen's in Michigan is 517-547-6565.. The poster makes a
terrific recruiting tool...as is evidence by all the girls teams in
Minnesota!!!!!!!! (well, and lots of hard work!)

Subject: Web Page for 1997 Canadian National Championship
Message-ID:
I'd like to announce the web page for the 1997 Esso Canadian National
Championship. The page is located at:
http://www.sentex.net/wwihc/wnhc/wnhc.html
The schedule is currently available on the web page, but as
the tournament progresses, game results and statistics will
also be made available.
I have added a link to this page from the main women's hockey index at
http://www.cs.utoronto.ca/~andria/Index.html (see Recent Additions),
and on the Canada page at http://www.cs.utoronto.ca/~andria/Canada.html
Thanks to Keith Snazel for putting the page together, and to Solution
Tech for fronting the server space.
The 1997 Canadian Nationals will take place March 6-9, 1997 in
Richmond, British Columbia. Please contact Becki Bookham at
604-574-7248 or 604-574-9843 for more information.
One team (at the highest level) from each province competes in the
National Championship each year. Some provinces send an all-star team
which is comprised of the best players from across the province. Other
provinces (such as Alberta and Ontario) send the team that wins the
provincial championship for the highest level of women's hockey within
that province.
Last year the final game of the National Championship was televised
by TSN (The Sports Network). I'm not sure if TSN will be covering it
again this year ... hopefully!
