I can't really help you, I don't think there has been much talk of
girl/womens hockey form that area. If I had to guess I would say they have a
new program. However if they had players playing in the boys program who
knows. Anyway Good Luck in the tournament.

One of those posts was mine. I really appreciate all of the people who
responded to my post. I am happy to announce that as of Wednesday, the
Houston Harpies not only had a full roster, but a paid one as well. No
one in Houston thought it was possible. Some of the women hockey
players can't even believe it. Some ask how we can go to a tournament
with no organized team and no coach. I guess we will find out in a
couple of weeks.
Thanks again for all the interest and support. I hope all of the people
looking for teams find a place. If we have a cancellation, I will post
an announcement.

Western Michigan University (Kalamazoo) is about 45 minutes or so from Grand
Rapids. This is the first year for a women's club hockey team. They are
definitely doing a lot better than the first day of practice. We are lacking
in players and could really use more. There is only one team, so far. If
anyone would like more information, please email me and I could get you in
contact with the coaches.

Louisville has been hawking a new women's line. I saw the catalogue but
don't remember seeing any goalie equipment. It was mostly chest protectors
for people with chests, pants for people with waists that included extra
padding in the abdomen, and gloves for smaller hands. Kids gloves don't
have the protection and mobility but they do have the size so they built
adult gloves for women. It looked interesting.

>Just a short addendum to Kelly's reply, and that is that please be aware
that there are 6 games being played outside Kitchener. These so-called
"Satellite Games" are in the round robin series and 2 of them involve Team
USA !!!
Tickets for these 6 games are not included in the package from Kitchener,
nor will they be offered by Kitchener box office. The tickets for these
games can only be obtained from the satellite site itself.

Subject: Female Hockey Camps!
Message-ID:
Hi Folks,
There's been a lot of chat on hockey camps lately...especially with
the spring and summer just around the corner. We're going to run a
full listing of ALL hockey camps for girls and women in Canada and the
United States...in our next issue of Women's Hockey magazine due out
in March.
If anyone knows of a female hockey camp out there that should be
included on the list for CANADA or the UNITED STATES, email me at
email@hidden as much detail as possible (contact, phone #)
and I'll make sure it gets noted.
Thanks

Hey!
I work at a hockey store in LA, and some guys just got back from that
trade show in Montreal also, and said they were very impressed with all
the women's gear. Maybe we'll actually see some on the market soon!

Hello, my name is Jennifer LaChapelle and I am currently involved in a
special studies project on women's ice hockey. I am searching for
information regarding the history of women's ice hockey, what is
currently going on in the sport today, and even a look at what we may
expect to see in the future. So far my research has been based on a
demographic questionnaire that I administered to a few of the Division I
teams, and personal accounts of their experiences from many players past
and present. If you have any information or articles that may be of
help I would love to hear from you. Please email me at
