Hi.

I was just wondering whether anyone has tried the women's Tackla 3100 or
3200 hockey pants or the Louiseville Women's TPS 800 Series female hockey
pant and can compare the two? I am looking to buy new hockey pants and
want to find out which one is better.

Thanks for any info you can provide.

Louise :)

I always wonder about sports equipment marketed specifically for women.
Sometimes it's actually designed for women's bodies, but all too often
it's just a cynical marketing ploy.

In what way do women's hockey pants differ from men's hockey pants? Is
the rise higher (i.e., do they come up higher on the waist)? Are
they shaped differently on the side seams, to accomodate some women's
hips? Are they padded in different places? Do they come in smaller
sizes than men's hockey pants? Do they cost more or less than
men's hockey pants of similar quality?

Regarding Women's hockey pants and other equipment. I tried the
Louisville Womens pants and really liked them EXCEPT the rear end is
very baggy. In fact it looks like you have a diaper on. Other than that
they fit great (maybe if you go a size smaller, they won't be so 'baggy'
in the back). On the other hand, the women's Louisville gloves, while
expensive $109, are fantastic! They fit well, are not stiff in the
finger/palm area and are really comfortable.

I was in Canada this past weekend and picked up the new book, "Too Many Men On
The Ice". Had to check 5 or 6 bookstores in Ottawa before I found one w/ a
copy available. I'm only half way through it and am finding it very
interesting. If you are at all interested in the history and development of
women's hockey, this is the book to get. Also, while in Ottawa, I noticed the
Esso promotion of the women's hockey cards. I didn't get the chance to check
it out though. Can anyone tell me if the cards they are giving away (or
selling) are the Upper Deck National Heroes set that recently came out?

No, they are not, they are a special set of pages which go in a
special binder, of mostly mens Olympic players, but some women from
Team Canada are in there as well.
