Subject: Olympic cuts

Some of the Olympic cuts have been made. I believe Canada is down to 20,
while the USA still has to make three cuts.

The USA's most prominent cut was Jeanine Sobek, which really says something
about the quality of player left on the team. They need to cut three more
players, including a goalie, and the goalie decision is going to be the tough
one - Sara DeCosta is playing brilliantly, Sarah Tueting is playing very well,
and Erin Whitten is at the bottom of the statistical categories. The question
is whether Ben Smith decides to go with experience or stats. I wouldn't be
shocked to see a decision right after the next tournament.

As for Canada, they cut Angela James, Danielle Dube, and three other players
(names and bios are still on the Team Canada Web site). Angela James was a
real shock - does anyone know anything about this? I wasn't too surprised
about Dube, since there have been rumors that she had a bad case of nerves at
the Worlds.

The upcoming games should be interesting...I have the Lifetime game circled on
my calendar so I don't forget!

Does anyone have any information about a High School Girls Hockey
League in Massachusetts? I know that there isn't one now, but I thought
I heard somewhere that someone is trying to organize one.

Thanks.
