So, does anybody know what time tomorrow's press conference to announce the
Team Canada roster will be? (Or does anyone have "inside knowledge" to
share tonight?)

When will the final cuts for Team USA be announced?

It would be great to hear some observations and descriptions from people
who saw either of the recent Canada-USA games. Who looked strong? Who
played well together? Who is doing the power plays and penalty killing?

I'm going to see Canada and Finland in Nepean next week.

Hi everyone,

I've just returned to the list after graduating from college (Cornell) and I
was wondering if anyone could update me on what's going on in Div I? I found
the USA Today women's hockey pages so I've seen the standings as of Dec 1st.
However, I don't really have a feel for what's going on in the league (the
standings surprised me) and I don't know the scores from this past weekend.

On another subject, I've just gotten settled in Hoboken, NJ and I'm looking for
some pick-up hockey to tide me over until I can join my company team for the
Spring league in Feb.. Anyone know of if there's any ice around here?

Thanks in advance for any info anyone can send me. You can email me directly
at: email@hidden

See Ya,

Before I say anything let me say this, I am in no way
trying to compete with this, or any mailing list.

I am running a mailing list called
email@hidden It is somewhat like this
list, but Im hoping for it to be a more comical list.
If you would like to join please email me at my
address or icq 1146336. Please do not criticize me,
and I know it will not compete with this list. This
list has people who share info about tournaments and
equipment. Mine is for jokes, people who wanna say
how their team is doing, etc

Have any of your teams qualified as a tax-exempt organization under 501 c
3? We are currently working on the paperwork and would LOVE a chance to
ask anyone who has already been through it a few questions.

Thanks.

Hi,

I was very happy to see the Minneapolis game between USA and Canada women's
ice hockey last Thursday with several of the Iowa State U. players.

The game started slow and quickly picked up in the second period with lots of
ridding people off of the puck and flipping people in the air even though
checking is illegal. There were a couple of checking penalties and a few
other penalties. Finally in the second period Katie King #20 of the USA
scored an unassisted goal.

In the third period the game was still pretty fast and the body contact even
more fierce looking. I had the impression that the teams had strong
competitiveness between them-to put it nicely. Katie King scored a second
goal, so then it was 2 for the USA and zero for Canada until somewhere around
a minute or 2 left, the Canadian team scored. I apologize for not knowing who
scored for Canada, so it was 2 to 1, USA leading, then with about 3 sec. left
another USA team player scored. I apologize for not knowing who scored this
goal. The final score was 3 to 1, USA the winner. I believe of the games
they played against each other this year they are tied 4 to 4 in wins.

I was very excited to see Manon Rauhme (I hope I spelled that right) and took
a couple of behind the net close-up pictures of her.

There were 3 or 4 players who were not in the game, who were signing
autographs between periods. Nike was showing off their new ice hockey skates
and was giving away an Cammi Granato autographed USA jersey. A young female
hockey player won the jersey. The arena gave us USA signs and Columbo yogurt
company gave away free yogurt and winter headbands. USA Hockey, Inc. was
having people sign up for a Visa card to get a free USA hockey t-shirt.
I bought a program and was disappointed to find out that the Canadian team
roster was not in the program.

There were over 4800 people at the Mariuchi Arena, but there was still lots of
empty space. That arena must seat about 12,000 people.

Anyways, I am looking forward to seeing the up and coming game on lifetime TV
Dec. 17 at 6 p.m.. central time between USA and Canada. And of course the
tidbits CBS will give us as well as the 3 or 4 a.m. gold medal game. I wish
cable TV in the USA would pick up the CBC.

Well that's enough for now. Let me know if you have anymore questions about
the MN game.

Joan
