In a message dated 97-04-29 10:01:48 EDT, you write:
<< o, Senior girls lets kick it
Duh na na na nuh
Ice Ice Hockey
Alright stop grab a stick and play,
I hit the ice and I'm ready for the game,
So fast that the ref. blows the whistle,
I hit the puck and it goes like a misile,
Steamin, though the goalies blocker,
If she stops it,
I'm gonna have to knock her OUT.
I'm gonna knock her OUT.
I'm gonna knock her OUT.
( I don't like the ending.... HA HA HA)

I was looking for a arena in the New Brunswick area that is open for
skating this summer. The reason is that I'm going to a tryout camp in June
but I haven't skated since April! Any help would be much appreciated!

The first and most important thing to do if you want to be assured of a
college coach's attention is to contact that coach. Have your daughter
write to all the coaches at all the schools she is interested in applying
to as soon as possible. Coaches aren't allowed to contact players until
the player's senior year, but players can contact coaches whenever they
want. Coaches will make an effort to investigate an unknown player if that
player has already expressed an interest in the coach's school. The video
taping is a great idea, especially if you don't think many coaches will be
able to see your daughter play in person.
If she wants to play for her HS team, is it possible for her to play in a
girls' league with higher exposure to recruiters as well?
As Alicia said, don't knock academic scholarships. Money is money,
regardless of where it comes from. Also don't forget that the Ivy schools
don't give hockey scholarships (or any other kind of sports scholarships).
However, they do provide financial aid and have some of the best hockey
programs in the country.
If you have any more questions feel free to contact me or my coach, Julie
Andeberhan (email@hidden).
Good luck.

Hi. I was wondering if anybody on this list tried out last Saturday?
I was there for about 3 hours watching. I had never seen so many women
hockey players together in one place! It was cool! I didn't even know
about it until a couple of ladies who played drop-in on Friday asked me
if I was trying out, and I'm at that rink at least 5 times a week!
A friend of mine should have tried out, but she didn't know about it either,
until Saturday...
Anyway, let me know if anybody was there, and what you thought about the level
of skill.
