Could this type of post be sent DIRECTLY to the person it is intended for? I
don't want to sound like a whiner, but this list is FULL of posts that are
specifically intended for one or two individuals. It gets time consuming and
frustrating wading thru 20 "Hi Suzie-See you in Fresno" messages...that's
what E Mail is for gang.
Sorry if I sound crabby,
Peluso

Given the fact that your daughter wants to get a college scholarship, I'd say
put her on the nearest girls' team *and* see if there's a local rink with a
pickup league that's looking for a house goalie. This high school coach
sounds like he'd rather swallow a blocker than let a girl play, and with
goalies in particular, the more ice time she gets, the better she'll be. At
the same time, playing pickup games against boys will help her reaction time
and sharpen her skills.
Also, if you haven't been doing it already, starting filming her games and
making the tape available to college scouts. Even if she only played ten
periods of coed hockey last year, if they were ten *good* periods it should
impress a scout.
I'm assuming that she's looking for advice on this...what's her preference,
if any? She's got the grades for just about any college - are there any
she's targetting?
Good luck!
