All,

I am sorry that I started throwing rocks and left town, but the guys who
make it possible for me to afford hockey felt I needed to go to Dallas
for busines. . .

Thanks to everyone who responded to my *respect* post!  I plan to
respond to some individually, but that will take awhile!  I was really
amazed by the support I got from this list.  What a great group of
people!

The comment that how our sport is percieved affects us in tangible ways
(i.e. amount and time of day for ice) is so true!  We are very fortunate
that there is one Hockey Director here in Houston who is committed to
getting women's hockey off the ground.  But she has to make the ice time
profitable, so we are really trying to get the word out to as many women
as possible.  If we aren't able to build enough women consistently soon,
we may lose the time (or get moved to an undesirable slot).

Thanks for the letters written on our behalf and thanks for the good
advice.  (I will be following up this week on many of the fine
suggestions!)  And thanks to Melissa for including the story in GoGirl!
Magazine.
