Here are the final scores for Nationals in Bloomington MN.

Senior A
Sat.

MN Blue J's 10 - Mad. Edge 2
MN Northern Lights 1 - Mich. Chiefs 1

Final
MN Blue J's 1 - MN Northern Lights 6
This game had a couple of empty net goals and a back-up goalie for the Blue
J's. It was an evenly matched game, more so than the score would indicate.

Senior B
Sat

Mich O'Leary Hawks 6 - RI Panthers 1

Final
Mich Hawks 5 - Stoneham 1

Midgets
Final
MN Tbreds White 0 - Alaska Firebirds 1, 3 OT's
This was an outstanding game with plenty of chances for both teams, on
balance the MN Tbreds had the edge, outshooting Alaska 52 to 18, but Alaska
kept countering and finally put in the gam winner. Both teams play very
well.

PeeWees
Final

Conn Polar Bears 5 - Assabet Valley 2

All in all a great tournament!!!

Subject: Central Ontario Women's Hokey League - Final Standings
Message-ID:

I've volunteered to handle the statistics for the Central Ontario Women's
Hockey League (Senior AA), the highest level of competive women's hockey in
Ontario. Included in this post are the final regular season standings for
the 1995-96 season.

Congatulations to the North York Aeros who capped off a fine season by winning
the League Playoffs this past weekend by defeating the Mississauga Chiefs 2-1
in an exciting final game. In the Bronze medal game, the Toronto Red Wings
defeated the London Devilettes 4-0. Belated congratulations also go to the
Aeros for capturing the National Championship's Silver Medal last month.

I recently found an excellent article on the web. I want to show it to some
people, but I lost my copy and cannot find the link again. It was probably
off Andria Hunter's page somewhere. It was about the difference between
men's and women's hockey. If anybody knows what I am talking about and knows
where it is, please let me know. I need it by Thursday.

Thanks,

Abby Clabough

Hi Everyone

Just finished my daughter's atom 'A' OWHA provincial championship
weekend. It
was great as usual, especially since her team won gold. It is great how
you can catch alot of hockey of different ages all in one weekend. I hope
it stays much the same format as girls/womens hockey grows. But then
again I may be dreaming; since I am already set to go to Ottawa for other
daughter's OWHA provincial championships.

What might be the next step would be to some how arrange National titles
for some of the younger ages (maybe down to Peewee A level)??

I was a little disturbed by how far ahead they got this past weekend and
making the players hurry when the earliest a game could start was a half
an hour ahead. These players are already nervous to begin with let alone
rushing them to get dressed.

George

While cleaning up my mail, I found the following information from Bev
Mallory concerning the COWHL all-star game that was played on March 7th.
I thought some of you might be interested in the result, so I'm forwarding
a short version...

It was a great tournament - from streakers to skaters! I'm exhausted
today, but then I didn't expect not to be!

Tom, you go ahead and put the scores on from where you left off...I
don't have all of them and in a foggy mind I've actually forgotten
some of them! But in case he doesn't...low and behold, they are in
the paper this a.m.

Senior Women B Championship; Michaigan O'Leary Hawks 5 - stoneham
Unicorns 1

Senior Women A Championship: Northern Lights (MN) 6 - Blue J's (MN)
1. Blue J's goalie got injured and a substitute goalie went in for
the Blue J's.

Peewee Championship: Connecticut Polar Bears 5 - Assabet Valley 2

Midget Championship: Alaska Firebirds 1, Minnesota Thoroughbreds
White 0 - 3 overtimes - GREAT GAME. Shots on goal for MN
Thoroughbreds 52 - Alaska 18.

Some comments: During the Midget Championship some spectators
(interested people from the community I believe) at one point made a
comment telling the player on the ice to do something and he made the
comment saying something about "him"....in other words he forgot he
was watching a girls game and thought it was a guys game. I
commented after everyone laughed..."that's okay...it only goes to
show you how great girls hockey is when you are watching a great game
and you do forget they are girls out there...goes to prove they are
good!" Everyone around us agreed.

Also, general comment to some messages that have been on as of late:
I believe the girl the NHL is thinking of drafting is Tara Mounsey.

Well, that's it from me...have a great day.

I'm writing on behalf of Tom Chan and the Surrey Female Hockey association to
inform the members of this list that Tom's email capabilities will be
suspended up until possibly four months from this date. Unfortunately the
Chan home was the victim of a fire over the weekend, although the house was
not a loss there was damage to the rec room which includes their home
computer. Since Tom and I work together it would not be any effort for me to
receive the digest form of this list which I would print and forward to him as
it becomes available. I have sent the plaidworks listproc server the correct
commands for my MSN account to recieve the digest form of the Women-in-Hockey
list. If Tom needs to contribute to the list he can do so from my email
address.
	Thank you for your patience.
