Finland and Sweden placing at the top is no big surprise ... they
have been the powerhouses of women's European hockey for a while. I
was very excited about the 3rd place finish for Switzerland! I spent a
year in Switzerland playing hockey, so not only did I develop a soft
spot for their chocolate and cheese :-)~ , but also for their women's
national team!! I was really glad to see them do so well.

Since Latvia finished last in the championship, they will move down
to the B European Championship next year. The winner from the B
European Championship moves up to the A European Championship next
year. The B Championship is taking place right now.

P.S. Much thanks to Ivar Grahn for
providing the results of the European A Championship.
