Hi all..

Hope you are all having a great summer.  

Just to introduce myself, I am a Coach, as well as the Registrar for the 
local girls ice hockey association.

Recently, we had just completed our registration, and the number of 
registrants has gone done quite significantly from last year (about 60% 
less).  

I believe there are many factors including poor coaching 
(although you can only criticize coaching to a certain extent, since we 
all are volunteers), a significant raise in registration fees, and the 
fact that most of the girls who were in our association also played 
Ringette, and when forced to make a decision this year, decided to play 
Ringette instead of hockey.

Anyways, I was wondering if I could pool this list's collective minds, 
and obtain some ideas of promoting girls ice hockey in order to boost 
registration numbers.  If anything has worked particularly well in the past 
for your association, or if you have an ideas, please drop me a line.
