Western Connecticut State University invites applications for the position 
of Head Coach of Women's Field Hockey, a newly created Division III 
athletics program.  Intercollegiate play will begin Spring 2005.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, all aspects of developing, organizing, 
and implementing a new Division III women's field hockey program that 
desires to be competitive; providing direction, coordination, and 
instruction to the WCSU women's field hockey team; Recruiting prospective 
student athletes; Ensuring compliance with NCAA and University policies; 
Counseling team members in academic, disciplinary, and personal matters; 
Representing the WCSU Athletic Department at professional, civic, charity, 
and alumni events; Budget management and fundraising leadership are also 
required.

Qualifications:  Bachelors Degree is required; Master's degree preferred, as is experience 
in coaching Women's Field Hockey at the collegiate level. Knowledge of 
NCAA rules and regulations and an understanding of the Division III 
student-athlete philosophy is required as is the ability to recruit 
student-athletes. The ability to relate to both internal and external 
campus constituencies is also required.

Salary & Benefits: Starting salary range of  $45,000 - $50,000 plus complete benefit package 
including medical, dental, and optical insurance, vacation leave, sick 
leave and paid holidays.
