Okay, like anybody else, I am somewhat hesitant to report this, but what the
  heck...

Our Girls' 17's team has been a "put together team" to play in the USA
Hockey Inline youth nationals; we have done this for the past two
years...any girl interested has been welcome to join. Everybody comes to the
two-day training camp. This year we had girls from Portland, Phoenix,
Nashville, Orlando, Atlanta, and our core unit in El Paso...all but one girl
  made it to the camp...

Since you are limited to what can be accomplished in two days, we had two
main objectives for the camp...expose all the girls to the tactical system
we use, so we could coach-and-learn on the fly during the 5-6 games of the
  tournament.

and the second was to bond as a team (what I think you are looking for)...we
had enough time to learn about each other, find strengths, make fun of
weaknesses (trustingly and jokingly, that is)...the crowning activity of
this was that we all slept overnight at the rink...actually on the rink
(remember, this is inline)...everybody brought sleeping bags, the goalie
even camped out in the crease, until all the other girls pulled her into the
center circle, together with them...the coaches slept on the blue lines...

I gotta second that "sleepover" concept, as corny or "girlie" as it might
  seem...our experience was really cool...

Final result, each and every player played waaaaay over her head, we had two
players make national all-tournament, beat a very good Hawaii team in the
semi's, and made it all the way to the championship game, losing only to an
excellent Cincinnati Eagles team...we all felt one of the key elements to
our silver-medal success was the comraderie developed during the sleep-over,
  recommend it to everyone...

Good luck to all this coming year...

-all the Polar Bears form El Paso, Texas, and everywhere else...

Does anyone out there have any info for adult lessons
in San Diego? I have tried to contact the San Diego
Heartbreakers but it looks like they are no where to
  be found. Thanks.
