I had a couple things I wanted to add to this having just gone through the
process of picking a school for my daughter last year. Go see all the
schools you are interested in and meet the coaches. Look at all the
facilities and have a girl from the hockey team show you around and ask her
as many questions as you can think of. All the prep schools we saw ( 7 of
them all back east) were great schools academically and had hockey, but they
all had a different feel to them you just can't tell by looking at a catalog
for the school.
Also pick a school she will like. If she were to break a leg and not be able
to play hockey, would she still want to be at that school? Anyway those are
things we did and they were very helpful. Here is a link to a camp I have

They say they help place girls into schools so they can play hockey. Maybe
contact them to see if they still have openings for their camps this summer.
