Shauna,

Hockey will not be the center of your world forever. I don't know how old
you are but ten years from now you may deeply regret your decision to delay
childbearing. One of the causes of infertility is maternal age. I have many,
many friends who would quit hockey forever if it would have allowed them to
get pregnant and give birth to a living child.

Hockey is a wonderful sport. But I'd advise taking a look at your goals (to
make the "B" team, play D1, go to the Olympics, etc.), take a realistic look
at your chances of achieving that goal, and then look at the sacrifices that
you would have to make to try to achieve those goals - including the
possiblity of infertility if you delay pregnancy too long. Is it worth never
giving birth in order to play 'your best' hockey?

Only you can make that decision. But, please, make an informed decision.
Nothing is worse than looking back and saying "if only I'd known."

Erin
