I overheat easily (I wear a sports bra under my
shoulder pads and that's all I can stand -- then
again, everywhere I play is indoors), but some of the
women I play with are completely opposit and get cold
easily. They wear either long underwear or stretch
pants under their garters/shorts.

As for the feet, I can't stand playing in cotton socks
-- I've had to a couple times when I forgot my "real"
socks. But I hands-down recommend Smartwool light
hiking socks -- good thickness (not too thick), warm,
not at all itchy, and my feet are pretty dry at the
end of a game/practice.

On another hockey-related note, several players on my
team played an exhibition scrimmage between periods of
a Weber State-Utah State hockey game in Ogden, Utah,
in front of 800+ people. Our team manager has been
trying to swing it for a while to help our league's
recruiting efforts. We were nervous, but the crowd was
great, very supportive, and we have a full sheet of
interested women now. A pretty cool idea if you have a
local college/minor league team that would let you
have some ice time!
