Yes!  The Canadian Forces has an active hockey program for women with
tournaments
and training camps held across the country in preparation for the Canadian
Forces National
Hockey Championships.

This past week, the Prairie Region (provinces of Alberta, Saskatchewan,
Manitoba and
North-Western Ontario) held the annual Women's Hockey Championships and
all-star
selection camp at Canadian Forces Base Shilo, Manitoba.  Here are the
results:

Round Robin:

17 Wing Winnipeg vs 4 Wing Cold Lake: 3-2
4 Wing Cold Lake vs Garrison Edmonton: 2-7
Garrison Edmonton vs 17 Wing Winnipeg: 1-2
4 Wing Cold Lake vs 17 Wing Winnipeg: 3-2
Garrison Edmonton vs 4 Wing Cold Lake: 7-2
17 Wing Winnipeg vs Garrison Edmonton: 2-2

Semi-Finals:

Garrison Edmonton vs 4 Wing Cold Lake: 5-4

Finals:

17 Wing Winnipeg vs Garrison Edmonton: 2-4 (DRAT!!)

The Prairie Region All-Star team was selected from players in attendance
at the tournament and the team will proceed to Canadian Forces Base
Borden 25-29 Mar 03 for the Canadian Forces National Hockey
Championships.
