I'm hoping someone here can help me with my Christmas shopping.

How do goalie pants sizes compare with actual waist sizes, or the sizes of 
women's slacks, or the sizes of men's slacks?  If my young goalie wears 
size 36 men's pants and is tall, what is she likely to wear in goalie 
pants?  The ones which say "34-36" or the ones which say "36-38" or 
something else?

Is it possible to get a good enough answer to this that I can buy pants for 
someone else through ebay or other second-hand arrangement, or do I need to 
get them at a store where I can return them afterwards?

If any of you are goalies and can give me some anecdotal data (i.e. my 
jeans size is X and my goalie pants size is Y) that would be great too.

What else should I be looking for in goalie pants?
