My sister lives in the North York area of Toronto and is looking for a
semi-competitive league to play in.  She played varsity hockey a while back
and would like to play semi-competitively perhaps once or twice per week.

Greater Kingston Girls' Hockey Association is holding tryouts for 
competitive teams at Atom through Senior.  Tryouts for Atom, Peewee, 
Bantam, and Midget start Sunday September 8th, and Intermediate and Senior 
tryouts start the weekend of September 21st.  (If interest warrants, we 
will also offer a Novice team).  Tryout fee is $25 for at least three ice 
sessions (a bargain).  Players registered with other OWHA teams last season 
or this season must produce a valid Permission to Skate or Release.

We are still looking for coaches for our Senior B team and for house league

The GKGHA is a brand-new organization that was formed last spring by the 
membership of two existing girls' hockey organizations in the same 
city.  By combining our numbers, we are looking forward to a great season 
for both house league players (all-girls local leagues in all categories 
from Novice (7-8) to Midget-Intermediate (15-21) ) and competitive players 
(top teams in Ottawa District WHA, second teams in divisions where interest 
warrants.) I'd say that the biggest advantage so far of the unified group 
is that we don't have to duplicate the volunteer jobs.  Because we don't 
need two registrars, two schedulers, two treasurers, etc, some of our 
volunteers have been freed up to do other things like publicity, 
fundraising, and referee liaison.
