On Thursday night the Griffins beat the Pacific Steelers 8-0.  Richmond 
didn't get many chances but they worked hard from start to finish.  The 
score was indicitive of the play.  I was impressed by Shelley Looney. 
 It was the first time I had seen her play as she was injured during the 
tryout camp.  She has skill similar to Nancy Drolet and Cammi Granato, 
but she is stronger, so she can power thru traffic.

Saturday's 2 1/2 hour game at UBC was very similar.  I think the final 
was 9-0 Griiffins.  Late in the Game the shots were something like 28 to 
4 for the Griffins.  As in the game before, the three National team 
players displayed their superior skill.  Besides superior skill, the 
Griffins have superior fitness and contioning compared with other local 
teams, but UBC didn't fade in the third as I would have expected.

In my opinion, the Griffins look the best that they have ever been.  If 
everybody stays healthy, they should do well against other NWHL and CIS 
teams.
