Hello fellow hockey enthusiasts. Two things: First, I'm gradually
getting used to the idea that I can't chill out in front of the TV every
evening to enjoy hockey night in Delaware on cable, now that the Stanley
Cup has been won. However, I don't miss the mindless drivel of the play
by play announcers who have nothing else to talk about but how many
hockey players don't shave during playoffs. ESPN even had a "10 Best and
10 Worst Beards/Stubble" highlight reel. Which got me to thinking - does
anyone know if the Canadian and US women stopped shaving during the
Olympic Tournament? If we truly are going to have equal coverage in
sports reporting, I'd like to see ESPN address that issue. Come to think
of it, maybe not! Secondly, I'm the Chairperson for the Volunteer
Committee for this coming season's USA Hockey Girl's and Women's National
Championship tournament to be held in April 2003 in Aston, PA (just south
of Philadelphia PA). If you have any experience/insights into what I can
expect, and/or if you would like to volunteer any and all services in
putting on this great event, please e-mail me individually with your
contributions/comments. I want to help make this tournament the best
experience ever for both players and tournament officials alike. Thanks
in advance for your help! --- Sylvia Wasylyk--- email@hidden or
