I bought a pair of the Missions at the end of last season. I tried them on
in the store and they were so comfortable. I have a narrow heel, and while
I've had a pair of Bauer 5000 Comps for years, trying on these skates made
me realise what I was missing.

Jill mentioned getting them heated. I got them heated and then I stood in
this enclosed box that had air bladders that inflated and formed the skates
to my feet. They took time to get used to - not because of the boot, but
because there was more blade surface than I was used to, but once I got them
contoured they were great. As you mentioned, I had been squishing my toes
to fit my ankle - size 2.5 kids! These skates are just what I needed.

I think with any purchase you need to shop around and get what fits the
best. The store I went to had really knowledgeable staff and tons of skates
to try on in all types of price ranges. I paid CAN$275 for mine, but if I
was willing to pay more, he had some Graf skates lined up that he says
"never fail". I can't justify paying that kind of money for skates!

JMHO,
Dawn

I just bought a pair of CCM 852s (I think they're 1999 model). They were
advertised online as "women's" skates. I bought them to replace a pair of
CCM 952s which I bought in a junior size and wore out the lining on the
inside of the ankle. This pair is comfortable and feels good on the ice,
but
I can't seem to find a skate that is really snug around the ankle without
going a size too small, which jams my toes. Has anybody tried the Mission
Betty Flyweights? Their advertising is very convincing, but at my local
shop, they cost about $400, which is about $150 or $200 more than I want to
pay. Any suggestions?
