ONLY U.S. GIRLS REGIONAL TOURNAMENT OF SILVER STICK INTERNATIONAL
HOSTED BY TOMPKINS GIRLS HOCKEY ASSOCIATION   ITHACA, NEW YORK
DECEMBER 6-8, 2002

Age Levels: There are three age levels in this girls ice hockey tournament:=20
12 and under (12U), 15 and under (15U), and 19 and under (19U).  There is a=20
new age classification scale in Canada, but we will be playing by current=20
U.S. age classifications for this Regional Silver Stick tournament.  However=
,=20
teams must abide by Canadian age classifications if their teams advance to=20
the Silver Stick Finals. =20
=B7   Pee Wee/12U- Canadian PeeWee ages are now the same as U.S. 12U.  Playe=
rs=20
at the 12U level must be 12 years of age and under as of December 31, 2003.=20=
=20
Ithaca event geared to Tier 2 or B level teams advancing to C level in S
arnia, Ontario.=20
=B7   Bantam/15U - Girls may participate in the Regional tournament if they=20=
are=20
15 years of age and under as of December 31, 2003.  However, the new Canadia=
n=20
Bantam level is 14U.  The finals tournament chair has decided that 15 year=20
olds may play but the teams will compete in the higher BB level rather than=20
at B (hosted by Cold Creek in Brighton and Trenton, Ontario). The Ithaca=20
event is geared to Tier 1 or strong Tier 2 teams.
=B7   Midget/19U - Girls may participate in the Regional tournament if they=20=
are=20
19 years of age and under as of December 31, 2003, but must be 17 years of=20
age and under as of December 31, 2003 to be eligible to play in the Midget=20
Silver Stick finals in Sarnia, Ontario. Ithaca event geared to Tier 1 or A=20
level teams advancing to BB level finals.

Registered Players: All players registering for the tournament must be=20
registered on a USA hockey team for the current season and show proof of=20
registration at the tournament.

Game Format:  We will strive to play a round robin format at each age level.=
 =20
If there are a large number of teams in one of the age groups, we will divid=
e=20
that group into two divisions (Blue and Gold).  All Midget/19U and Bantam/15=
U=20
teams will play three 15-min. stop-time periods with 2 min. penalties.  Pee=20
Wee/12U teams will play 12 min. stop-time periods with 1:30 min. penalties.=20

Advancement to Finals:  The first and second place teams from each age level=
=20
at this Silver Stick regional tournament advance to the Silver Stick finals.=
 =20
Winning teams are expected to play in the Silver Stick finals.  Three is the=
=20
limit for age-appropriate substitute players joining the teams that advance=20
to the Finals due to age differences or scheduling issues. Visit=20

There is only one year round hockey rink in the entire state - the Louisiana 
Hockeyplex in Lafayette.  I paid $150 for a 14 game house spring league.  We 
pay $8 for an hour long clinic.  I just paid $60 for a 5 game tournement (4 
games guaranteed).  It's a lot cheaper than NYC, but I still wish I was back 
there instead of here in the swamp.

Hi:

We are a intermediate level womenbs ice hockey team looking for a coach.   

We play in the B Division of the South Shore Womenbs Hockey League of Massachusetts with games in Canton, Marlboro, and Concord Mass.
