Hi Kari,
Don't worry, these Roller Shoes are not able to hurt your inline- or skate-perfomance. Far from it, it will widen your motion repertoire and this gives you more confidence on other sports too. On the beginning you may need a few minutes of customization time when you change, but that will fade away quickly.
Regards, Nick

Ice costs in Edmonton are around $200 per hour. Most teams charge players
$400 for the season. Price includes a 26 game schedule. Practice ice is
usually extra.
The players who make the Edmonton Chimos of the NWHL will not be paying
anything. The team will cover the costs of all ice and travel to Vancovuer
and Calgary. The team will practice twice a week, with games on weekends.
The regular season schedule will be 24 games, with exhibition games to fill
in the schedule. For more information on tryouts - go to edmontonchimos.com

Municipal arenas in a small Ontario city:

Adults or casual rentals: about $150 CDN including taxes
Approved youth organizations: about $105 for prime time, down to about $60
for 6 am or 7 am on a weekday.

As I was just saying to someone the other day, in a city of about 100,000
people, the city owns 7 indoor ice surfaces, the university has one, and
the military base recreation association has one.

After seeing the high cost of ice in New York and elsewhere, I am almost
embarrassed to give the Minnesota cost for ice time.

Prices range from $140-$150/hour in the major cities to $75 or less in the
northern cities. Minnesota has approximately 200 indoor ice sheets, the
majority of which are publicly held arenas (city, county, school or a
combination city/school, etc.) which help subsidize the costs. In addition,
many of our community based youth organizations use charitable gambling
fund-raising to keep the costs down for boys and girls teams.

The Adult women's programs yearly fees (depending on how many members on a
team and how many practices and tournaments they want) are generally from
$350-$500, which includes registration with USA Hockey, Minnesota Hockey,
and the Women's Hockey Association of Minnesota (WHAM); 24-28 league games;
and referee and scheduling fees. Each team sets their own fees. This
figure may not include travel costs, tournaments, etc.

Here in Atlanta, they just raised the cost of the ice at several rinks. We
are not happy...

Ice time: $240/hour (at the rink we skate at)
Season: @$200, includes weekly practices and/or scrimmages, and USA Hockey
registration. Hard to pin down since we went from having a free coach, to a
paid coach, to now a paid coach who is paid less than the last paid coach.
Tournaments and travel are extra, and usually a "you pay you go" deal.
If we put together a team for Regionals, there is a set cost for that team
which includes any tournaments they'll go to.

Vancouver's 8-rinks facility charges $6500 Canadian a team in the women's
novice division, or around $400 Canadian a player for 24 games plus
playoffs, with two refs and a scorekeeper, plus four practice ice times.
Some local community centre rinks ice times in Vancouver go for $125-150 an
hour in summer, and double that in winter.

Hi everyone!

I have a women's tournament here in the Vancouver area in a few weeks. I have a few teams looking for a few more players for the tourney.

It is primarily a women's tournament but we do have a few underage players (and they understand that it is women's rec hockey). The tournament is in Coquitlam (just outside of vancouver) and is the weekend of Friday August 16th - Sunday August 18th. The cost per player is $50 per player and all teams are guaranteed 4 games. Cost includes refs, scorekeepers, insurance, etc....

As of now, I am in need of a few (3 or 4) novice players and a couple of intermediate level players. If you are interested let me know!

Lolly

The day after they lost the gold in SLC several members of Team USA appeared
on the Today Show. Merz and Bailey said that they were done as far as
international competition is concerned. Mleczko said she would have to
think about it. I think Sarah Tueting was thinking about returning to
school as was Tara Mounsey.

I'm sorry - but I thought Team USA won the silver, not "lost the gold."

Lisa
That same company, Canlan Icesports, has tried to start womens leagues in
the Toronto area and has not succeeded.
They tried $425/player or $5800/team, and there were no takers

Women don't seem to fall for the high costs of "for-profit" leagues like the
men.
But, two leagues in Toronto have succeeded though forcing the women to play
games at 1030pm and 1130pm at night on cheaper ice. Those games are poorly
attended or in many cases defaulted because most women won't play at that
time.
