It was announced in the paper this week that Ben Smith had released goalie
Ali Brewer and forward Erin Magee.  Jenny Schmidgall and Krissy Wendell will
both join the team for the exhibition games in St. Cloud this week.
Exhibition games will take place in St. Cloud, Minnesota, on Friday, March
30, at the National Hockey Center between Sweden and Russia, at 8:00 p.m.
The USA will also play at the NHC against  Sweden on Saturday, March 31, at
8:00 p.m.  The Minnesota Community Olympic Development Program will also be
playing exhibition games this week.  Wednesday and Friday (March 28 and 30)
they will play China, Thursday and Saturday (March 29 and 31) they meet
Kazakstan.  All four games are at Schwan's Super Rink in Blaine, Minnesota,
at 7:30 p.m.  

Tickets are still available for the World Championships through
www.Ticketmaster.com. 

Minnesota Hockey will host the 50 team 2001 USA Hockey Girls' and Women's
National Tournament at Schwan's Super Rink in Blaine and Columbia Arena in
Fridley from April 4-8.  The United States' best amateur girls' and women's
teams will compete in five different classifications for a national title.
The age groups include 12 and Under, 15 and Under, 19 and Under, and Senior
Women's A and B. Come out during the day April 4-6 (starts at 8:00 a.m.) to
watch the teams advance to the quarter and semi-finals on Saturday, April 7.
Sunday will begin at 9:30 a.m. with the 12 and Under Championship and the
Senior B Championship.  The 15 and Under and Senior B Championships will be
held at 11:30 a.m. and the 19 and Under championship will begin at 1:30 p.m.
Exact dates and times of the event are available on the USA Hockey website
at usahockey.com.  

If you are coming to Minnesota to see the World Championships, stop out at
Schwan's Super Rink (4 sheet Olympic size arena) during the day and watch
the best amateur players in the United States compete.
