go to "pick up" and "stick and puck" sesions . Public sesions in the morning
are good also, there are no people there (here in Missouri anyway) and it is
easier to learn to skate that way. If you are like me and felt a little
embarrassed falling in front of people, this is the best time to learn but
truthfully don't feel like people are trippin' off of you falling 'cause even
the pro's fall at least once or twice a game.

I must now express the absolute belief in playing roller and ice. I have been
told by many that they believe I am one of the best goalies they have seen
(not my opinion!) because of playing both. Playing roller makes you a much
faster ice skater. There is a lot less friction on ice so if you are use to
having to pump your legs like a cheetah you will fly on the ice [(but don't
try this until you learn to stop) (to stop you must first turn your hips
square to the "object you are trying to stop before you crash through" and
lean into the stop. It took me six months to learn this on my own as I taght
myself to skate.

Be safe and remember ALWAYS have fun or it's not even worth playin' the
game!!!

The lion roars and there is still no score!
