Women"s Hockey Falls To No. 1 Dartmouth

Madison, Wis. - Women"s hockey Badger Kendra Antony (Yorkton, Sask.) scored two goals against Dartmouth, but the Badgers fell 5-3 to the top-ranked team in the nation at the Alliant Energy Center on Saturday. Kristin King led the way for the Big Green with a hat trick in the contest.
	Visiting Dartmouth scored twice before the Badgers would do so. Louise Pietrangelo scored at 7:15 on a point shot. Carrie Sekela redirected Correne Bredin"s right point shot, but the puck deflected off a Badger to Peitrangelo at the point. 
	Kristin King made it 2-0 at 15:54 on a Badger giveaway. King skated through the slot and intercepted a clearing attempt. The attempt by a UW defenseman from behind the net deflected in the air, landing in front of an open King. 
	Natascha Sherman (Seattle, Wash.) finished at 18:13 for her third goal of the year to cut the lead in half. Sis Paulsen (Eau Claire, Wis.) overlapped with Kelly Kegley (Inver Grove Heights, Minn.) behind the net, taking the puck before finding an open Sherman in the slot.
	Early in the second Antony made it 2-2 after stealing the puck from a Dartmouth defender at the UW blue line. Antony skated on a two-on-one with Steph Millar (Hudson, Wis.), but kept the puck and fired for her 13th of the year.
	King gave Dartmouth back the lead at 4:54 of the second period on a second defensive-zone turnover by the Badgers. King stole the puck at the right face-off dot and scored on her own rebound. 
	King completed the hat trick at 5:35 of the third period. Her wrist shot from the high slot deflected off a UW player and past Jackie MacMillan (Buffalo, Minn.) for the score. 	
	Kim McCullough made it 5-2 at 13:34 after taking a pass from Emilia Peraza. McCullough was stopped once, but converted on her own rebound for her 12th tally of the year.
	Antony responded less than 30 seconds later at 13:57 from Meghan Hunter (Oil Springs, Ont.) and Kerry Weiland (Palmer, Alaska). Weiland took the puck in her own zone, pushed it ahead to Hunter, who caught Antony streaking down the right side. The sophomore powered around a Dartmouth defender, drew Meghan Cahill out of her goal, and shot into the vacated net. It was her 14th goal of the year.
	*I think I have mixed feeling about how we played today,* said head coach Trina Bourget. *In spurts we played our !A" game, in other spurts we definitely didn"t. Dartmouth capitalized on it.*
	MacMillan made 24 saves in the game and dropped to 13-6-5. Meghan Cahill earned the win in relief for Dartmouth with nine saves in just over 30 minutes of action. Amy Ferguson started the game, stopping nine shots and allowing two Wisconsin goals.
	Of note, the game was halted at the 14:53 mark of the second period when Dartmouth"s Lydia Wheatley went down with an injury. The two teams went to their respective lockers and observed the second intermission at that point. The teams skated the last 5:07 of the second after the intermission, before switching ends for the third stanza.
	*The game gave the team more confidence, helping them realize they can play with this team, we just can"t give up the puck four times in front of our own net,* reflected Bourget.
	Wisconsin (15-6-5, 9-4-5 WCHA) returns to the road after more than a month and travels to MSU, Mankato (2-24-2, 0-17-1) for games on Feb. 16 and 17 at 2:35 p.m. at the Midwest Wireless Civic Center. The Mavericks have a win and a tie in their last two games.

hey, does anyone have any info about womens college hockey in/near boston?    
 i'm asophomore in highschool now.. and im planning on honing my hockey 
skills to play in college.. anyone have any information?
