Skate fit is a very personal thing. I also have heard that CCM are better for
wide feet. Several of my teammates have recently bought Mega skates because
they were having ankle problems with other skates, and they love their new
ones.

Good Luck,
Deb

P.S. Don't forget to get your knew skates sharpened right away. I know some
people that have done that.

<< Hi, this list has been kinda quiet lately. I hope
everyone is having a fun and hockey-filled summer.I
went to go sharpen my skates and realized there's not
too much blade left, and i've been wanting new skates
so this is the time. I suppose i could check back in
the archives again, but i wanted to hear everyone's
input on what kind of skates are best. My boyfriend
swears he'll disown me if i buy Bauers, he says their
quality has deteriorated since being with Nike. I've
always had Bauers. I heard the CCMs are nice, too. I
have a relatively wide foot, and some say CCMs will
fit better, some say Bauer. Agh!

All my kids share my very wide feet. CCM skates run wider in general than the other brands, and my 15-year-old daughter and 10-year-old son use them with very good success. My older boy has older high-end Bauer skates which were ordered in US size 11EE. They fit him much better than the off-the shelf size 12 skates did. I don't know about the quality issue with Bauers now, although they always used to be very good.

I bought CCM 852 made for women and have loved them. They were pricey, but
ordered them from Canada and got the exchange bonus. I have a wide foot and
they fit beautifully. I'm considering getting the same for my daughter.
Good luck. By the way, I really don't like Bauer's -- too narrow and not
enough support.

I just bought a pair of Mission skates at the end of the season. Broke them
in at
spring league and then our military nationals. I love 'em!!!!!

My CCM 795 Tachs fit well onto my wide foot. They did take a little while to
loosen up when they were new, but I guess that's normal.

Like some said earlier, skaye fitting is a very personal thing.

I wear CCM regluar skates and Bauer Goal skates. I've also got a pair of Heaton goal skates hat I havn't tried yet. My boyfriend wears CCM skates but he has a very narrow foot and had to special order a narrower width. My advice is to try on every pair of skates that you can get your hands on. And remeber that different models will fit differently. i.e. a 1050 and a 650 are going to feel very different even in the same size.

Take your time and make an educated decision.

Is there anyone living in the Toronto area who is
interested in playing co-ed roller hockey? There are
more women then men,and we pick our men very
carefully. It's free, it's outdoors, and it's alot of
fun.
We play Friday night's at the outdoor rink in
Trinity-Bellwoods park (dundas and shaw area), from
7-8:30 in the evening.
This is a non-competitive, pick-up game of roller
hockey. We accept all levels of skill (even
beginners).
So if you want to come and give it a try, or keep in
shape for the summer this is for you.
If interested you can contact me by e-mail at
email@hidden or call me at (416) 532-9800.
