Caught the Canada vs Finland game last night in Oshawa, Ontario. It was quite an entertaining game to say the least. The final score was 6-6. The place was sold out and packed with all ages. Canada is still testing the waters with some new players, giving them a look. Some players really stood out, like Wickenheiser who had 4 goals was amazing. Lesley Reddon had a bit of a tough night giving up all 6 goals. It was a very spirited game with lots of penalties. The reffing wasn't up to par at all. Penalties were handed out for very minor things and not issued for glaring infractions. One Canadian player was clearly thrown head first into the boards and there was no call made. Luckily there was no injury. Canada has it's work cut out for it defensively. They were very sloppy in their own end of the rink, however, they were great offensively. It's great to see some of the new young talent that is out there. Very encouraging for the future.

Yes, It's called "Gold Medal Ice Hockey for Women and Girls," and I found it
at Amazon.com.

The Houston Harpies, a USA Hockey-affiliated women's team, is competing
in the novice division at the upcoming Las Vegas Women's Hockey Classic
(Feb. 4 - 7, 1999), and has roster openings for this tournament. We are
in particular need of a goalie, however, we could use another player or
two at any position to round out our roster. Please reply to:
email@hidden for more information.

Thanks,
Bonnie L. Hoffman
