I'm not sure which team you are referring to in your post about the Christmas
Cup, but as far as I know the US Women's Select team is playing in a holiday
tournament in Lake Placid, N.Y. from December 27 to January 2. They will be
facing off twice against Russia and Sweden. The championship game is
scheduled for January 2 at a time yet to be determined. You can take a look
at the team's schedule for the 1999-2000 season here: http://usahockey.com/nat

I just wanted to tell everyone that I had the chance to attend the game
between the US Women's Select team and the Princeton Tigers at Baker Arena
this past Wednesday. It was a great game with almost no stops in the play and
only one penalty. Princeton played their hearts out, but came up short losing
6-1.

Our seats for the game were right behind the US bench, and it was truly
awesome to watch the players up close and see how they played the game.

I would highly recommend that if any of you are within a six or seven hour
drive to the nearest rink that the US team has a game scheduled, to attend.
We drove six hours from Pittsburgh to Princeton and it was definitely worth
it! (Not to mention on the way home that we ran into the entire ECHL's Toledo
Storm at a McDonald's!)

Happy Holidays everyone!

We went to the game in Princeton as well. The most incredible thing to
note about the US Team is their skating. There is so much strength and
agility. They can go from 0 to 60 in a second. Their edges would make a
figure skater happy. I always thought that there was not enough time spent
on plain old skating, and too much worry about sticks etc. When I watch
games, it is just so clear that improved skating would make a huge
difference in the play. People just want to get their kids into hockey
gear and onto the ice. We really need to shift back to basic skating
skills to bring up the level of play.

out
there know how to get tickets?>>

Jill,

Today I called the Air Canda Centre and they said that you can purchase
tickets for the USA/Canada game scheduled for February 4 at the Air Canada
Centre box office or by calling Ticket Master Canada. I'll definitely be
there!!
