What a great way for Mom and Daughter to take a hockey trip!

Camp instructors and counselors will be current and former NCAA Division I,
II, and III Women's Hockey Players and Coaches. NCAA rules prohibit the
use of collegiate athletes names for promotional purposes, so we are not
allowed to list our instructors. Last year we had 13 players and coaches,
along with 3 local coaches, and a 3 to 1 player to instructor ratio
throughout the camp - we will strive to maintain that ratio (except for
Women's Senior).

The camp is scheduled during one of the busiest weeks in Milwaukee
- -July 9-11: The Greater Milwaukee Open PGA Tour Event
South Shore Water Frolics (lots of fireworks at the
lakefront)
Bastille Days - French ethnic festival in Downtown streets
- -July 11: The Great Circus Parade
- -July 15-18: Festa Italiana - the nation's largest Italian ethnic
festival, on the lakefront. Best fireworks you'll ever see.
- -4 Milwaukee Brewer home games

We have lots of great things planned for the camp. What a great way for
your Daughter to get a great hockey camp with ALL FEMALE instructors, AND
for Mom to start playing hockey!!

Lorino" Subject: Calling out for Mite (10 & Under) Girls teams Waukesha County Youth Hockey Association (WCYHA) is looking for 10 & under teams! Although not a USA Hockey age designation, we are lucky to have the numers to skate a 10 & under team - possibly 2 teams! I know that Minnesota has some tournaments for this age classifications and Canada also has teams in this age group. We are looking for TEAMS TO PLAY and TOURNAMENTS for 10 & under. We will be using all the standard tournament searches (Let's Play Hockey, internet, etc.) Prefer midwest (we are Milwaukee based), but will entertain all opportunities. Also, WE WANT TO HOST OUR OWN 10 & UNDER TOURNAMENT. It will most likely be part of our successful Winter Deep Freeze Tournament February 18-20, 2000, but could be a Thanksgiving Tournament. Canadian girls' teams use the same age groupings as Canadian boys' teams. 11&under, as of Dec 31st, is Atom; 9&under on Dec 31st is Novice; kids younger than 8 are usually in Initiation Program groups, but there are occasionally tournaments for Tyke (7&under). Congratulations on the growth of your program! Louise ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 17 Apr 1999 14:36:31 -0700 From: "Tanya Martin" Subject: helmet question I need help to decide if I am a big worry-wart. I shipped my month old Itech goalie helmet back to the manufacturer as there was a small amount of rust at one of the mask's joints. The return instructions stated that the helmet must be packed securely or it the return would not be accepted. I bubble wrapped the helmet, placed it inside it's carrying bag then put it in a sturdy cardboard box with packing paper around it. When I received the helmet back it was in it's carrying bag in a flimsy box. It had been shipped UPS ground and there are a couple crush marks on two sides of the box. I know the helmet it's self is designed to stop pucks but could damage have been done in the shipping that would compromise the integritiy of the helmet? Also they just sloppily painted over the rust and I am worried that after my warranty period is over the joint will have rusted through. Anyone have a similar problem? Thanks, Tanya, #35 ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 17 Apr 1999 20:48:06 EDT From: email@hidden Subject: Re: helmet question Hi Tanya, From what you wrote, it sounds like folks did a sloppy job all around at Itech. I would not trust a month old helmet with rust. It would be impossible to guage how far through the metal is rusted. If you are playing with men, the affected area could fail if hit in just the right spot. Our rec league goalie plays in a men's rec league, too. She has taken some shots to her cage that bent the metal in. I would not want to be behind some of those shots wondering if the metal is going to just bend or fail completely. Itech has a web site, but my system is so old, I can't navigate it. The address is www.Globalsports.com/Itech. I would try to contact someone at the company before I shipped it back in the mail again. If they don't offer a replacement of the part outright, I would ship the whole thing back for a refund with a letter detailing the risk associated with wearing defective equipment. And do keep us updated on the WIH newsgroup with your progress. I have not bought anything by Bauer since 1994 because of shoddy workmanship and their disinterest in correcting the problems I pointed out. Make sure you have the sales slip, and start all over again, this time insisting that they replace the helmet. There should be an implied warranty that a month old helmet should not rust. Try going to the store, and perhaps they will work with you to replace the helmet. Good luck. She was second amongst the teamâs rookies in assists (22) and plus/minus rating (+39). Slominski had six multiple-point games during a seven-game stretch in the middle of the season, including a goal and an assist against two-time Canadian national-champion Concordia to help Minnesota to the High Peaks Hockey Classic title.
